How many varieties of onions are there?

(1) Red-skinned onions
Red-skinned onions are more common, with-red skin on the outside of the bulb, slightly red flesh in the scales, flat or round, with a diameter of 8 to 10 cm. They are resistant storage and transportation, have a shorter dormancy period, and sprout earlier, showing early to mid-maturity.
(2) White-skinned onions
White-inned onions have a lower yield, with representative varieties such as the Hami White Skin. Its bulb is white, with fleshy scales, white, flat round, and some high round and spindle-shaped. White-skinned onions have excellent quality and are suitable for use as raw materials for dehydration processing or as ingredients for canned food.
3) Yellow-skinned onions
The bulb of the yellow-skinned onion is a light yellow to brass color, with fleshy scales, slightly yellow and soft, a fine and dense texture, and a strong spicy flavor. Its yield is lower than that of the red-skinned variety, but its quality is better, and it can be for dehydration processing.
